Club Rules
All Members shall comply with appropriate standards of behavior while in the Club or on the Club’s grounds. Members must respect the Club’s furnishings and facilities. Colonial Club Members are expected to represent the club on and off premises in a positive manner. Members will dress appropriately while in the Club or on the premises. The Board of Health, and therefore the Club, requires that shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Additionally, bathing suits are not permitted in the servery or dining areas at any time.
All Members agree to abide by the alcohol policy as set forth by the Club’s Board of Governors and state law and, further, agree NOT to serve or otherwise distribute alcoholic beverages to anyone under twenty-one (21) years of age. This infraction has serious consequences and can be cause for expulsion, as well as legal ramifications. Members and guests are not permitted to leave the premises with open alcohol containers. There will be no forced drinking at any time. Only beer is permitted during student events, including tap nights. No hard alcohol is permitted at any time, except for Winter Formals, Houseparties, Casino Night, and Hotel Colonial. This will be strictly enforced.
Sexual harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The Club has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment and may be cause for expulsion, as well as legal ramifications
The possession or use of unlawful drugs or weapons of any kind in the Club or on the premises is prohibited and is grounds for immediate expulsion of the Member.
There is no smoking, of any type, in any part of the building, at any time. Smoking is permitted outside only. Please use the ashtrays provided.
Members are responsible and will be charged for any and all damages done by them and/or their guests. The Membership Fund will be charged for damages to the house by unknown persons.
Undergraduate Officers are responsible for assigning the five spaces available for members. A parking pass will be issued by the business office to each authorized auto and must be displayed in the dashboard at all times while parked at the Club. Member parking is along the back fence ONLY. Member parking is not permitted in any other spot behind the Club. Any Member violating their parking privilege will have their car towed without notice and at the Member’s expense. No guests are permitted to park behind the building without prior approval from the business office
No private parties or meetings are to be held in common areas of the Club without the express permission of the Club Manager. To discuss private parties or meetings, contact the business office at 609-924-0255.
Bedrooms are single occupancy only. Violators will be brought before the Board of Governors.
Any failure to provide meals or the use of the Club facilities due to acts of nature, construction, strikes, or due to any causes beyond the control of the Club, shall not constitute a breach of contract and the Club will not be liable to the Member. Pro-rated refunds, reductions or alternate dining locations may be provided solely at the discretion of the Board.
When the University is not in session, use of the Club will be at the discretion of the Manager and, when necessary, with the concurrence of the Board of Governors.
